The Oceanic-Union.Org is an organisation dedicated to the goal of seeing an effective economic, social and political union of Oceanic states of the Pacific and Indian Oceans.

The prosperity of the region depends upon the improvement of economic, social and political cooperation between the richest Island nations and the poorest. Key economic nations such as Australia stand to gain significant benefits in formalizing a common economic market with small Island neighbor nations.

Similarly, many nations in the region stand to substantially improve their standards of living through increased trade in ideas and reduction in crime, corruption and wasteful economic policies.

With the greatest respect to current associations and groups, they no longer has sufficient vision, nor moral strength given the pressing issues of standard of living, of stable and accountable government and the need for improved employment and skills opportunities for the citizens of Oceanic states.

Recent internal unrest in many of these states continues to underpin the fragility of sovereign independence, democracy and integrity of government. Such a union therefore would help both enshrine the sovereign integrity of these nations and at the same time provide the legal and political framework to ensure stable and accountable systems for the whole region.

In areas such as terrorism and organized crime, only a Union of states can properly address the issues associated with drugs, weapons, people and radicalism.
|

This site is still in significant development. But it is hoped in the coming months and years that support for a formal union of Oceanic states which encompass the constitutional reforms listed here will become a reality.
