13. Justice and operation of military courts
 
  Article 87-Dresscode of the court  
87.1 Dresscode of the court  
  As court of Oceanic Union is a solemn symbol of all justice and law of Oceanic Union. All those who enter and reside within its walls are bearing witness to the heart of Oceanic Union. For what other place exists that better demonstrates the upholding or denigration of the core values of society than a court of law.  
  Therefore, it shall be considered a contempt of society and the military itself should a person enter a court without proper attire, without proper shoes, without at least a sense of respect of their appearance. Therefore the dress codes as stated in this article shall be born and upheld not out of tradition, nor out of elitism, nor cultural conservatism, but out of the utmost respect for Oceanic Union and the symbols of Oceanic Union as demonstrated in a living way through its courts.  
87.2 Dresscode of a Military Magistrate  
  A Military Magistrate when attending court shall be required to dress in a dark suit, a black coloured vest and black robe, upon which no insignia, nor emblem exists. Around their neck, they shall be required to wear a white lace collar. The robe and white collar shall represent the symbols of authority of the Magistrate and no other person in court shall be permitted to dress in such manner except another Magistrate sitting in judgment.  
87.3 Dresscode of a Judge  
  A Judge of all courts when attending court shall be required to dress in a dark suit, a black coloured vest and black robe. Around their neck, they shall be required to wear a white lace collar and on their head they shall be required to wear a wig historically befitting such office. Around the collar of their robes shall be gold bands, with each representing a decade of loyal duty as a sitting judge, while on the sleeves of their robe shall be gold design, with each design representing a jurisdiction of a service of the military, with the existence of one design being limited to one service and all designs being a judge with jurisdiction over all branches of the military. The robe, wig and white collar shall represent the symbols of authority of the Judge and no other person in court shall be permitted to dress in such manner except another Judge sitting in judgment.  
87.4 Dresscode of all court staff, excluding security  
  All court staff are expected to wear formal military dress uniform of their proper rank befitting a person supporting the court and judge.  
87.5 Dresscode of all legal representatives  
  All legal representatives, whether they be defense or prosecution are expected to wear their formal dress uniforms.  
87.6 Witnesses, plaintiffs and jury  
  All witnesses, plaintiffs and any members of the jury are required to wear their formal dress uniforms to court. No person is permitted to be a witness or member of the jury that is not well groomed and well dressed for court.  
  A person who disobeys a direct order by the judge and deliberately fails to dress in a manner befitting the honor of the court, having the financial means or having been given the means to do so shall be guilty of contempt.  
87.7 Defendant  
  All defendants who presently hold a rank in the armed services are required to wear their dress uniform, or if not a member of the armed services to wear formal attire and be well groomed and presentable to court. No defendant is permitted to enter the court that is not well groomed and well dressed for court.  
  A defendant, shown to be capable and aware of instruction put before them, who disobeys a direct order by the judge and deliberately fails to dress in a manner befitting the honor of the court, having the financial means or having been given the means to do so shall immediately be guilty of contempt.  
  Officers in charge of a defendant who is currently held in remand who do not provide enough time, clothing or adequate means for a defendant to dress in a manner befitting the honor of the court and having been specifcially warned to do so, shall themselves be liable for contempt.
